About Department

The Computer Science & Engineering Department is committed to developing intellectual, innovative and inspirational environment and contribute to technical, research, scientific as well as academic knowledge through excellence and to produce technocrats. A strong team of highly qualified, well experienced and dedicated faculty members are there in the department. Moreover, apart from teaching and research, provides career guidance to students.In order to expose the students to the latest trends and technology, the department organizes various activities like National conferences, Seminars, Workshop. Also, Faculty Development Programs, Technical Fest so as to take the responsibility of overall professional growth of students. Computer Science Engineering labs are equipped with latest components and highly configured network devices. Students of B.Tech. study Computer Networks, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Wireless Communication, Advanced Java and many other subjects of Computer Science and Information Technology.The department has strong undergraduate programme, designed to create innovators and researchers. The department has not looked back since then. It has witnessed a manifold raise in the size of the vibrant student body. Presently, all efforts are geared towards making this the first choice of aspiring undergraduates. Faculty strength is all set to multiply many times over with the planned addition of young and dynamic persons flashing enviable academic and research records. The Department aims to produce quality professionals in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and strive for excellence in research and development.. Students are encouraged to take ICT projects such as Smart City, IoT, Robotics, Graphics, Future Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Green Technology and Grid Computing, etc. The department’s contemporary mission is to strengthen the laboratory infrastructure by bringing in new industry-relevant technologies to enable students to learn at a higher level, stimulate integrated learning by providing multiple industry-relevant interfaces, and enables students to take up industry-relevant projects. To nurture, always have goals. It is human nature to strive, improve and achieve full potential. In fact, that is success. It is what is possible for you. It isn’t any external measure – a certain cost to company pay package, a particular car or house. with immense proud I would like to mention few achievements of our college. The students have secured under 1000 rank in Gate, they got selected in IIT and NIT for higher studies. Not only this but the package that has been offered to the students were more than 6 lac the students have been placed in abord too and many more achievements have been marked by our prominent Department.

It’s a great zeal for me that the CSE has reached the height of success universally as an imperative source and technique for the betterment of every human being today and forever. India being the fastest growing economies, job creation and skill development seems to be natural blueprint for enduring prosperity. The Department has significantly mastered for the development of the nation and also riveted on Information Technology by conveying quality education to the students to be world wise competent in the field of Computer Science, Engineering, innovators and researchers. The Computer Science and Engineering Graduates of NSIT Patna Engineering College will

  • Apply the principles and practices of Computer Science and Engineering encompassing Mathematics, Science and Basic Engineering and to employ the modern engineering tools effectively in their profession with their World-class technical competence.
  • Possess expertise to function as members of multi-disciplinary teams and implement software technology solutions for real-world problems of international standards and will be achievers at the global level.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
